UCLA's Kelly Lytle Hernández is vice president of the Society of American Historians. Nichole Price will direct a new research center at Colby College and Ivonne Miranda was awarded tenure at Cedar Crest College. Hiu Li is a Distinguished Research Professor at Florida State University and Florida A&M University and Danbi Um has joined the University of Cincinnati faculty.
Dr. Donovan began her tenure at Bellarmine University in Louisville in 2017. Earlier, she spent 32 years at Loyola University Maryland, where she ultimately served as executive vice president.
The women who have been appointed to endowed faculty positions are Lisa Abendroth at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, Laura Reina at Florida State University, Elizabeth Craig at the University of New Hampshire, and Karin Pfeiffer at Michigan State University.
At Florida State University, Dr. Cook conducts research with the department of psychology and the Learning Systems Institute on topics relating to children's development of skills that underlie their long-term academic success. In addition to her own research, she has been advocate for advancing access to healthcare, childcare, and parental leave for other FSU postdocs.
The National Academy of Education has elected 19 distinguished education scholars and leaders to its membership. Of the 19 new members of the National Academy of Education, 12 are women.
Dr. Hughes served as the first woman and first African American president of California State University, Stanislaus from 1994 to 2005, making her the university's longest-serving president. She then became the first woman president of Dillard University in Louisiana, where she oversaw major recovery efforts after the university's campus was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Jenn Gayre of Florida State University, Carey Perry of Florida Atlantic University, and Elise Wilson of Mississippi University for Women have all received promotions. Amanda Ballinger is taking on a new role at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland recently honored Professor Wang, dean of the College of Nursing at Florida State University, for her pioneering work in digital health transformation and integrating artificial intelligence into nursing practice.
Dr. Kistler currently serves as dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Rollins College in Florida. She will begin her new role as provost of the College of Wooster on July 1, 2026.
