Dr. Bolton is slated to become Columbia College Chicago's first woman of color president on July 1. She has extensive experience in higher education administration, including key leadership positions with Georgia Tech, Washington University, and Tulane University.

Dr. Wilson joined the faculty at Alabama A&M University in 1979, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in urban and regional planning. In 1988, Professor Wilson became head of the department of community planning and urban studies.

Dr. Sims has 25 years of experience in K-12 and higher education. Most recently, she was the dean of the College of Education at Athens State University in Alabama. Before that, she was the director of student services management and dean of instructional and student services at Drake State.
Dr. Caples began her academic career at her alma mater, Alcorn State University. She then joined the faculty at Alabama A&M University, and served there in many capacities, including provost, for the next 40 years. On two occasions, Dr. Caples served as interim president of Alabama A&M.
Dr. Edmond will serve as provost during the 2016-17 academic year as the university searches for someone to serve in the role on a permanent basis. She has served as provost at Albany State University in Georgia and Alabama A&M University.
They are: Debra Daniels at Joliet Junior College, Lucile C. Jones of CalTech, who is retiring from the USGS, Karen E. Campbell of Vanderbilt University, Virginia Caples of Alabama A&M University, Janet Corson-Rikert of Cornell University, Fay S. Adams of the University of Tennessee, and Catherine M. O'Neill of the University of New Mexico-Taos.
The honorees are Lori Pollock of the University of Delaware, Stacy Ziegler of Clarkson University, Pamela Heaton of the University of Cincinnati, JoAnne Epps of Temple University, Grace Schulman of Baruch College, Virginia Caples of Alabama A&M University, and Janice Moore of Colorado State University.
