Beverly Edmond to Serve as Provost at the University of Montana

Beverly Edmond, the new provost at University of MontanaBeverly C. Edmond was named interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Montana. She will serve as provost during the 2016-17 academic year as the university searches someone to serve in the role on a permanent basis.

Dr. Edmond retired in 2015 from Albany State University, where she was serving as special adviser to the president. She was provost and vice president of academic affairs at Albany State from 2013 to 2014. Earlier in her career, Dr. Edmond was provost and vice president for academic affairs at Alabama A&M University. There, she served for one year as interim president of the university. From 1994 to 2006, she served on the faculty at Clark Atlanta University.

Dr. Edmond is graduate of Albany State University, where she majored in sociology. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Ph.D. in political science from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
