Dr. Johnson retired as provost of Big Sandy Community and Technical College in 2016 and has remained an active local community member. She has served president, vice president, treasurer, and board member of the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce; and president, and vice president of the Prestonsburg Chapter of Rotary International.

Emory University’s Jennifer Adamski to Lead the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses
Dr. Adamski is an associate professor and program director of the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner program at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta. She is also a critical care acute care nurse practitioner for the Critical Care Flight team at Cleveland Clinic, the first in the nation to have a nurse practitioner-managed flight team.

Rebecca Sherrick served for 22 years as president of Aurora University in Illinois, where she was one of the longest-serving presidents in the institution’s history. She was the first woman to serve as president in the university’s history. Earlier, she taught history at Carroll University in Wisconsin for 20 years.
Claire Oliveros Named the Thirteenth President of Riverside City College in California
Dr. Oliveros has been serving as the vice president of institutional equity and research and planning at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. Earlier, she was was the assistant provost for student success initiatives at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the executive dean of student development and learning resources at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon.

Leamor Kahanov is the new senior vice president and provost at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Sheri Noviello was appointed interim provost and vice president of the Division of Academic Affairs at Valdosta State University in Georgia.
University of Alaska Fairbanks Appoints Two Women to Direct Regional Campuses
Wanda Wahl is the new director of the Bristol Bay Campus in Dillingham, Alaska, and Minnie Naylor was named director of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Chukchi Campus in Kotzebue. Both women had been serving their new roles on an interim basis.
Constance St. Germain Will Be the First Woman President of Capella University
Dr. St. Germain joined Capella University in 2017 as provost. Earlier she was the executive dean at the University of Phoenix and vice president, dean, and professor of criminal justice for the American Public University System. She will become president of the university in September.

Since 2018, Dr. García has been serving as president of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Earlier in her career, she served as president of California State University, Fullerton and California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Susan Kazama Named Interim Chancellor of Hawaiʻi Community College in Hilo
Kazama has worked in the University of Hawai’i system since 1987, starting as a librarian at Maui College and Honolulu Community College. She spent 12 years on the staff at the Hamilton Library at the University of Hawai’i Mānoa’s before accepting the library director position at Kapiʻolani Community College in 2001.
Deborah Casey Appointed President of Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland
Dr. Casey has been serving as vice president of student affairs at Green River College in Auburn, Washington. Dr. Casey first joined Green River College in 2006 as dean of student services and retention before becoming vice president of student affairs in 2011.
The New Leader of Hunter College of the City University of New York
Ann Kirschner served as dean of CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College from 2006 to 2016, after which she was appointed as special adviser to the chancellor for strategic partnerships. From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Kirschner was a university professor on the faculty of the CUNY Graduate Center.

Mary-Ann Bjornsti Is the New Leader of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology
Dr. Bjornsti, the Newman H. Waters Chair of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, has served as associate director for the university’s Translational Research at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. Before joining the faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009, she taught at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Anita Hanson Is the New President of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, Minnesota
President Hanson has served on the staff at the college since 1994 in several capacities. Since November 2022, she has been acting president. Previously, Hanson was vice president of student services and enrollment management during the fall of 2022 and the dean of student services from 2018 to 2022.
Cynthia Bond Hopson Is the New Leader of Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas
Dr. Hopson has been serving as chief equity officer and assistant general secretary of the Black College Fund at the United Methodist Church’s General Board of Higher Education and Ministry in Nashville. Earlier, she served on the faculty of Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, Murray State University in Kentucky, and the University of Memphis.
Kenyon College in Ohio Has Selected Julie Kornfeld as Its New President
Dr. Kornfeld currently serves as vice provost for academic programs at Columbia University in New York City. She previously served as vice dean for education at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health. Earlier, Dr. Kornfeld was assistant dean and director of education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Stacia Haynie Chosen as the Thirteenth President of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas
In 2019, Dr. Haynie was named executive vice president and provost at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Earlier, Dr. Haynie was dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the J.W. Annison Jr. Family Alumni Professor in the department of political science. She joined the faculty at LSU in 1990.

Dr. Zant has been serving as vice president for academic affairs at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas. Earlier, Dr. Zant served in workforce development roles with the Grossmont/Cuyamaca Community College District in El Cajon, California.
Jessica Robinson Is the First Alumna to Serve as President of Cuyamaca College in California
Dr. Robinson was most recently the college’s interim president and vice president of student services. Earlier, she served as assistant dean for student affairs and interim associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Health and Human Services at San Diego State University. She has also taught courses on leadership, social work, and community organizing at Sand Diego State University and the University of San Diego.

Barbara Shinn-Cunningham is the director of the Neuroscience Institute and the George A. and Helen Dunham Cowan Professor of Auditory Neuroscience at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Before joining the faculty at Carnegie Mellon, Dr. Shinn-Cunnigham taught at Boston University for more than 20 years.

Jennifer L. Troyer has been appointed interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Pamela E. Scott-Johnson will be the next provost and vice president for academic affairs at Spelman College in Atlanta and Allyson L. Watson was appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Florida A&M University.
Pamela Haney Appointed President of Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois
Since 2012, Dr. Haney has been serving as vice president for academic affairs at the college. Prior to coming to Moraine Valley in 2009, Dr. Haney served as program administrator and assistant professor of communication arts at Defiance College in Ohio. She also taught as an assistant professor of speech communication at Norfolk State University in Virginia.
Erika Endrijonas Chosen to Lead Santa Barbara City College in California
Dr. Endrijonas was president of Pasadena City College since January 2019. She previously served as president of Los Angeles Valley College. Prior to that, she served as executive vice president of Oxnard College in the Ventura County Community College District. Early in her career, Dr. Endrijonas was career and technical dean at Santa Barbara City College.
Michele Carter Will Be the First Women Chancellor of Central Texas College in Killeen
Dr. Carter began her career at Central Texas College 32 years ago as a receptionist. Most recently, she has served as deputy chancellor of finance and administration. When she takes office on July 1, she will be the first woman and the first African American to lead the college.
Margaret L. Drugovich Selected to Lead Marietta College in Ohio
Dr. Drugovich retired from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, in 2022 after serving 14 years as its president. Prior to her time at Hartwick, Dr. Drugovich was the vice president for strategic communications and university enrollment and vice president of admission and financial aid at Ohio Wesleyan University. She will serve as interim president of Marietta College, effective July 1.
Yolanda Page Selected as the Eighth President of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Since last fall, Dr. Page has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Savannah State University in Georgia. Earlier, she was a professor of English and vice president in the Division of Academic Affairs at Dillard University in New Orleans. Previously, Dr. Page served as dean of arts and sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Lauren B. Schellenberger Appointed President of Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri
Dr. Schellenberger began her career at the college as an assistant professor of biology. Administratively, Dr. Schellenberger has served the college in executive leadership roles since 2018, most recently as provost. She is an expert in crop science, botany, and plant pathology.
Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas, Names Amy Bosley as Its Next President
Dr. Bosley has been serving as vice president for institutional planning and development, and as chief of staff at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. Earlier, Dr. Bosley served as vice president of organizational development and human resources at the college. She has also taught communication courses at the graduate level at the University of Central Florida.
Kimberly Rogers Appointed the Fifteenth President of Contra Costa College in California
Before being named acting president of the college in 2022, Dr. Rogers was vice president for instruction. Earlier in her career, she held academic appointments at the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System, the University of Massachusetts Boston, and the Université de Haute-Alsace in France.
Torie Jackson Appointed President of West Virginia University at Parkersburg
Before being named interim president in 2022, Dr. Jackson served in various roles at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Her previous roles included chief operating officer, executive vice president for institutional advancement, president of the West Virginia University at Parkersburg Foundation and associate professor of communication.
Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, Names Stacee McIff as Its New President
McIff has served as interim president since July 2022. Earlier, she was vice president of technical education and workforce engagement for two years after serving for a time as associate provost and as business department chair for eight years.
Nerita Hughes Will Be the Next President of Bay de Noc Community College in Michigan
Dr. Hughes has been serving as the interim associate vice president of academic affairs and workforce innovation and dean of the School of Business, Careers, Education, and Workforce Innovation at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She will begin her term as president on July 10.
