California University of Pennsylvania Names Geraldine Jones as Its Permanent President
Jones was named acting president of the university in 2012, after serving for nearly four years as provost and vice president for academic affairs. She was named interim president in 2013 and served in the role for three years.
St. John’s College of Nursing Names Its Next Chancellor
Charlene S. Aaron was appointed chancellor of the St. John’s College of Nursing in Springfield, Illinois, effective June 1. Dr. Aaron has been serving as an assistant professor in the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University.
Historian Katherine Fleming Named the Next Provost at New York University
Dr. Fleming currently serves as deputy provost and vice chancellor for Europe at the university. She also serves as the Alexander S. Onassis Professor of Hellenic Culture and Civilization and as director of the Remarque Institute at the university.
Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire Names Susan Stuebner as Its Next President
Dr. Stuebner is currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She joined the staff there in 2013. Previously, Dr. Stuebner was vice president for administration and planning at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Cynthia Azari Appointed President of Oxnard College in California
Dr. Azari has been serving as interim president at Fresno City College. She was president of Fresno City College form 2009 to 2011 and then served as president of Riverside City College in California. Earlier in her career, she was president of Butler County Community College in Pennsylvania.
Judy Mitchell to Lead Joliet Junior College in Illinois
The board of trustees of Joliet Junior College in Illinois named Judy Mitchell as interim president of the educational institution upon the sudden resignation of President Debra Daniels. Since 2012 Dr. Mitchell has served as vice president of administrative services at the college.
Mojdeh Mehdizadeh Is the New President of Contra Costa College in San Pablo, California
Mojdeh Mehdizadeh has been serving as interim president since January. She has been with the Contra Costa Community College District, which includes three colleges, since 1998. Most recently Mehdizaded was executive vice chancellor of education and technology for the community college district.

Gayle E. Hutchinson currently serves as provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University, Channel Islands. She has held that post since 2013. Earlier in her career, Dr. Hutchinson served on the faculty at the Chico campus for 17 years.

Janice A. Cervelli will become the 12th president of Saint Mary’s College on June 1. Currently she serves as a professor and dean of the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Earlier, she taught at Clemson University in South Carolina and the University of Kentucky.

Yves Salomon-Fernandez, who is fluent in four languages, has been serving as interim president of Massachusetts Bay Community College in Wellesley Hills. She will begin her role as president of Cumberland County College on July 1.

Dr. Beck currently serves as provost and executive vice president of Nevada State College in Henderson. Before becoming provost, she served as dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, chair of the Faculty Senate, and as a faculty member in the psychology department.

Maria Gallo is dean of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Earlier in her career, she was chair of the department of agronomy at the University of Florida. When she takes office in July, Dr. Gallo will be the first woman president in the 120-year history of Delaware Valley University.

Dr. Carson became interim president of South Georgia College in 2008 and president in 2009. In 2013, South Georgia College merged with Waycross College to form South Georgia State College with Dr. Carson named to lead the merged institution. She will step down as president on June 30.
