Two Women Who Have Been Appointed to Provost Positions in Higher Education
Rosa Rivera-Hainaj has been selected as provost at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, and Catherine Koshland was named interim executive vice chancellor and provost at the University of California, Berkeley. Both appointments are effective in July.

Dr. Ramsey, whose appointment is effective May 1, comes to CUNY from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in Washington, D.C., where she spent the past year as a senior executive fellow. A biologist by training, Dr. Ramsey previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.

Florida State University’s Karen Oehme to Serve as Chair of the Academic Resilience Consortium
The consortium is an association of over 600 faculty, staff, and higher education students dedicated to understanding and promoting student resilience. St. Lawrence University in New York Names Kathryn Morris as Its Nineteenth President
For the past eight years, Dr. Morris has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Earlier, Dr. Morris served as a professor of psychology and was chair of that department at Butler. Her areas of expertise include social psychology, the psychology of gender, methodology, and statistics.
Betty Rosa Named Commissioner of Education and President of the University of the State of New York
Dr. Rosa has served on the board of regents since 2008 and became the board’s chancellor in 2016. She resigned as chancellor in August to fill in as interim commissioner of education. Dr. Rosa holds two master’s degrees from the City University of New York and a master’s degree and a doctorate from Harvard University.
