Seven Women Appointed to Administrative Roles at Universities

Qubanae’ Hudson has been promoted from interim assistant dean to permanent assistant dean of students within the Office of the Dean of Students at North Carolina Central University. Prior to her interim appointment, she served as a case manager, providing crisis support services to students. Earlier, she was a residence coordinator and conduct officer at the University of Central Arkansas.

Hudson is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where she majored in communication science disorders. She holds a master’s degree in college student personnel administration from the University of Central Arkansas.

Jenni Todd has been named director of development for the College of Education and Human Services and University Libraries at Murray State University in Kentucky. She has worked for the university’s National Public Radio stationm – WKMS – since 2009. Most recently, she served as the station’s membership director.

Todd received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Murray State University and her master’s degree in arts administration from Florida State University.

Ashley F. G. Norwood has been selected to serve as interim director of public relations in the division of university communications at Jackson State University in Mississippi. Prior to her interim appointment, she served as the university’s associate director of digital storytelling. Her background includes over a decade of experience in multimedia journalism.

Norwood received her bachelor’s degree in English from Jackson State University and her master’s degree in journalism and media studies from the University of Mississippi.

Tiffani-Dawn Sykes has been appointed associate vice president for intercollegiate athletics at Virginia State University. With over two decades of experience in collegiate athletics, she most recently served as a player development assistant and advisor to the head football coach at the University of Maryland. Earlier, she was the first woman to serve as vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics at Florida A&M University..

Sykes is an alumna of Virginia State University, where she majored in health and physical education. She holds a master’s degree in sports administration from Grambling State University in Louisiana.

Mone’t Basnight Earle has been named director of alumni relations and engagement at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. She has extensive experience in supporting the university’s alumni events, including service as a member of the homecoming committee since 2018.

Earle is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University.

Larissa LaCour has been promoted to director of the Executive Briefing Center at the Virginia Tech Research Center-Arlington. She has worked for the center since 2013, most recently serving as assistant director and manager.

LaCour holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on human resources and a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs administration from the University at Buffalo.

Missy Bryant has been named vice president for student development at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. Prior to her new role, she spent over 13 years with Ursinus College, most recently serving as vice president for student affairs and dean of students. Earlier, she served in various student affairs roles at Southern Methodist University in Texas.

Bryant received her bachelor’s degree from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania and her master’s degree from the University of Alabama.
