New Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale received a three-year grant from the Howard Fellowship to fund a fellowship at the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute for women interested in government and public service. The Cecilia M. Howard Fellow will serve as a graduate teaching assistant at the institute and be mentored by senior staff and faculty.
The University of Maryland Baltimore County received a $1 million grant from the Northrop Grumman Foundation for a Cyber Scholars program that is slated to begin this January. The program aims to increase the number of women and minorities who pursue degrees in cyber security fields.
