Toni Jensen Receives 2024 Porter Literary Fund Prize

Toni Jensen, associate professor of fiction at the University of Arkansas, has been awarded the 2024 Porter Fund Literary Prize. The Porter Fund, established by Ben Kimple, former chair of the university’s department of English, presents the award annually to an Arkansas-based writer in recognition of their outstanding body of work.

At the University of Arkansas, Dr. Jensen teaches and directs the program in creating writing and translation in the department of English. She also teaches in the master of fine arts program at the Institute of American Indian Arts.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Jensen is the author of Carry: A Memoir of Survival on Stolen Land (Ballantine, 2020) as well as the short-story collection, From the Hilltop (Bison Books, 2010).

Dr. Jensen earned her Ph.D. from Texas Tech University.
