Wellesley Is the Top Women’s College in the Latest Rankings From U.S. News

U.S. News & World Report has released its new rankings of America’s best colleges and universities. Wellesley College in Massachusetts retained its place as the top-rated women’s college among all nationally ranked liberal arts colleges. Wellesley ranked in sixth place, the same spot it occupied in the 2011 rankings of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges.

Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, move up one place to be ranked in the 18th position in the latest ratings of liberal arts colleges.

Scripps College in Claremont, California, was the third highest-ranked women’s college. Scripps holds the 24th spot, up from the 29th position last year. Last year, Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania was the only highly ranked women’s college to improve in the rankings. This year Bryn Mawr slipped one position to 26th place.

Barnard College in New York City improved its ranking from 33rd to 28th. Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, was ranked 32nd this year, three positions lower than in 2011.
