Rhetoric Society of America Recognizes Rebecca Dingo for Outstanding Mentorship

Rebecca Dingo, professor of English at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, has received the Cheryl Geisler Award for Outstanding Mentorship from the Rhetoric Society of America. The biennial award recognizes a rhetoric scholar who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to guiding, supporting, and educating students and junior colleagues.

At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Dr. Dingo teaches courses on composition and rhetoric. In addition to teaching, she serves as the associate director and senior fellow in the Office of Faculty Development.

As a scholar, Dr. Dingo focuses her work on transnational feminist rhetorical studies and the rhetorics of global policy. She is the author of Networking Arguments: Rhetoric, Transnational Feminism, and Public Policy Writing (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2012) and co-editor of The Megarhetorics of Global Development (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2012).

Dr. Dingo holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in women’s studies and English from Ohio State University.
