Four Professionals Appointed to Diversity Positions in Higher Education

Jeremi London has been named assistant provost of academic opportunity and belonging in the Office of Undergraduate Education at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. She will also serve the School of Engineering as an associate professor of mechanical engineering. Dr. London comes to Vanderbilt University from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she served an associate professor of mechanical engineering.

Dr. London holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, a master’s degree in industrial engineering, and a Ph.D. in engineering education all from Purdue University in Indiana.

Sheleta Camarda-Webb has been named interim chief diversity and inclusion officer at Pennsylvania Western University. She has been with the university’s campus in California, Pennsylvania for the past three decades, holding a number of different positions including director of multicultural affairs and diversity education; interim chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer; and assistant vice president for assessment and external relations.

Camarda-Webb received her bachelor’s degree in social work and master’s degree in secondary education and social science from Pennsylvania Western University California.

Alexandra Pirkle has been appointed director of communications and marketing for the Virginia Tech Office for Inclusion and Diversity. Pirkle previously served as communications manager for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Texas Dallas.

Pirkle holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in English from Texas A&M University Commerce.

Chloe Poston has been selected as the next vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion at Davidson College in North Carolina. She currently serves as vice president for culture, belonging, and strategic engagement at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Dr. Poston has an academic background in chemistry, and previously served as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Dr. Poston earned her bachelor of science degree from Clark Atlanta University, a historically Black institution. She holds a doctoral degree in bio-analytical chemistry from Brown University in Rhode Island.
