A Trio of Women Who Have Been Hired to Diversity Posts in Higher Education

Shay Malone was named assistant vice president of diversity and inclusion at Northwest Missouri State University. She was the director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and a diversity officer for the student affairs and academic support units at the University of South Carolina. Earlier in her career, Dr. Malone was assistant director of leadership development and intercultural affairs at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Dr. Malone holds a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in writing and a master’s degree in media communications with an emphasis in public relations from Webster University in Missouri. She earned a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Alabama.

Karin Gosselink was appointed assistant dean for educational opportunity and will serve as the inaugural director of the Office of Educational Opportunity at Yale College. The new office aims to promote educational equity and ensure that all undergraduates have widespread and ready access to Yale’s educational, advising, and co-curricular opportunities.

Dr. Gosselink is a graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She earned a Ph.D. in English literature at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Keisha Jimmerson has been promoted to dean of students and diversity officer at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She has been on the staff at the university for 25 years. Most recently she served as associate dean of students for diversity, inclusion, and international student services.

Jimmerson holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and an MBA from Seton Hill University.
