Four Women Scholars Assigned to New Faculty Roles in Higher Education

Erin Rothwell, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology, is the new vice president for research at the University of Utah. She has been serving in the position on an interim basis since January 2022. Earlier, she was associate vice president for research.
Dr. Rothwell received her bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy and master’s degree in park and recreation management from the University of South Alabama. She holds a Ph.D. in recreational therapy from the University of Utah.
Katie Fanning is a new assistant professor of health sciences at Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She will also serve as the coordinator of the Salem Scholars program. She has been serving as a practicing veterinarian and directed an office of the Humane Society.
Dr. Fanning is a graduate of the University of FIndlay in Ohio, where she majored in biology. She earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Illinois.
Jeanette Davidson was appointed director of the Center for Societal Impact and a professor of instruction at the University of Texas, effective for the 2023-24 academic year. She has been serving as a professor of African and African American studies at the University of Oklahoma. She taught at the University of North Texas and Columbia University before coming to the University of Oklahoma in 1997.
Dr. Davidson earned master’s and doctoral degrees in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Krista D. Glazewski, a professor of instructional systems technology in the School of Education at Indiana University, has been appointed the executive director of the William and Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and associate dean for translational research in the College of Education at North Carolina State University, effective July 1. She joined the faculty at Indiana University in 2011 after teaching at New Mexico State University.
Dr. Glazewski earned bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. She holds a doctorate from Arizona State University.
