Rachel Putterman was appointed associate chaplain and director of Hillel at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She is the former director of Hillel at Bowdoin College in Maine and Boston College.
Putterman holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, San Diego and a master’s degree from Hebrew College’s Rabbinical School in Newton, Massachusetts.. She earned a juris doctorate at American University in Washington, D.C.
Bettina Mozie has been named acting director of the Center for Online and Distance Education at South Carolina State University. Mozie joined the staff at the university in 2018 as an academic specialist and later served as the training coordinator and eLearning instructional designer for the Center for Online and Distance Education.
Mozie earned a master’s degree in teaching online and distance education from Ashford University.
Dana R. Bennett is the interim executive director of the Guinn Center, a nonpartisan research and policy center, that joined the University of Nevada in 2021. Dr. Bennett is the former president of the Nevada Mining Association and former regional director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
Dr. Bennett is a graduate of Boise State University in Idaho. She hold a master’s degree in history from Binghamton University in New York and a Ph.D. in history from Arizona State University.
Leyla Keough-Hameed was promoted to the position of director of faculty development at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has been serving as associate director for the Institute of Diversity Sciences at the university. She is the author of Worker-Mothers at the Margins of Europe: Gender and Migrations between Moldova and Istanbul(Indiana University Press, 2016).
Dr. Keough-Hameed holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from George Washington University. She earned a master’s degree in social science from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
= Carrie Castille was appointed senior vice chancellor and senior vice president for the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. She most recently served as director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, the federal science agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Dr. Castille earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She holds a master’s degree in environmental sciences and a Ph.D. in renewable natural resources with an emphasis on environmental and public policy from Louisiana State University.
Reshunda L. Mahone will be the next associate vice chancellor for alumni engagement and annual giving at North Carolina State University, effective August 15. She was assistant dean for advancement and alumni engagement for the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Mahone holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. She earned an MBA from the University of Central Florida and an educational doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Heather L. Reese has been named executive director of Wisconsin Public Media, the division at the University of Wisconsin–Madison that oversees Wisconsin Public Radio and PBS Wisconsin. Reese has served as interim director since August. She previously served as associate director of Wisconsin Public Media.
Reese earned a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Ayana Davis Hernandez is the new interim associate vice chancellor for strategic communications at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. She was special assistant to the chancellor at North Carolina Central University. Earlier, she was director of public relations before being promoted to associate vice chancellor for communications and marketing at North Carolina Central University.
Hernandez is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, where she majored in English. She earned a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications from New York University.
Yvonne Hernandez Friedman has been named vice president for student affairs at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, effective August 8. She has been serving ass assistant vice president of student engagement at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Dr. Hernandez Friedman earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in higher and postsecondary education from Arizona State University. She holds a Ph.D. in educational equity and social justice from Claremont Graduate University in California.

She has been serving as director of apostolic mission and charism for the Congregation of Holy Cross-US Province of Priests and Brothers in Notre Dame, Indiana. Earlier, she was vice president for mission and ministry at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wallace holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She holds a master of theological studies degree from Washington Theological Union and a doctor of ministry degree in educational leadership from the Virginia Theological Seminary.
Jennifer Howe has been named the next vice president for development at the Georgia Institute of Technology, effective August 15. She has been serving as vice president of advancement at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Earlier, she spent 15 years as an advancement officer at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
Howe holds a bachelor’s degree in English from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Kristina Kaskel-Ruiz is the new vice president for marketing and communication at Texas Woman’s University. She held a similar position at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
Kaskel-Ruiz had served as Sam Houston State’s associate vice president of marketing & communications since 2010. She received her education at the University of Houston.
Autumn Spriggs is the new project manager in the Office of the President at the University of the District of Columbia. Previously, Spriggs worked for a national nursing organization, providing high-value resources to nursing students in master’s and doctoral degree programs.
Spriggs holds a bachelor’s degree from Elon University in North Carolina, with a dual major in psychology and English.

Dr. Blankenbaker has served as president of the Tarrant County College Northwest campus since 2017. She recently assumed additional responsibilities as the chief academic officer for the community college's online and in-person campuses.
Most recently, Dr. Hooyman was vice president of academic affairs and provost of Northwest Missouri State University. She was the first woman to serve in that role.
