Four Women Named Deans

Jendia Grissett was named the inaugural dean of the College of Education at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. She has served as interim dean since last fall and formerly was chair of the department of education at the university.

Dr. Grissett is a graduate of Troy University in Alabama. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Alabama and an educational doctorate from Alabama State University.

Nicole Judice Campbell was named interim dean of University College at the University of Oklahoma. She has been serving as associate dean and is an associate professor of psychology. Dr. Campbell joined the university’s faculty in 1998.

Dr. Campbell is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She earned master of arts and doctoral degrees in psychology from Arizona State University.

Leigh Weisenburger was appointed dean of admission and financial aid at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She has been serving as director of admission at the college. She will assume her new post on July 1.

Weisenburger, a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, joined the admissions staff at Bates in 2004.

Cheryl Waites was appointed the seventh dean of the School of Social Work at Wayne State University in Detroit. She has served as interim dean since last October. She joined the School of Social Work in 2007 as associate dean. Prior to coming to Wayne State, she was associate chair of the department of social work at North Carolina State University.

Dean Waites holds a master of social work degree from Fordham University in New York and a doctorate in counselor education and psychology theory and research from North Carolina State University.
