All Four Finalists for Dean of the University of Colorado School of Law Are Women

The University of Colorado has announced a field of four finalists for the position of dean of the university’s law school. All four candidates are women.

Michèle Alexandre is dean and professor of law, Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. She was a faculty member at the University of Mississippi from 2008 to 2019 and at the University of Memphis from 2003 to 2008. Prior to joining Stetson, Alexandre served as associate dean for faculty and intellectual life at the University of Mississippi School of Law. Alexandre is a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. She earned her law degree at Harvard Law School.

Johanna Bond is the Sydney and Frances Lewis Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. An expert in international human rights law and gender and the law, Bond joined the faculty at Washington and Lee in 2008. Earlier, she was an associate professor of law at the University of Wyoming. Professor Bond is a graduate of Colorado College. She earned a master’s degree in public policy and a juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota. She also holds a master’s degree in law from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Lolita Buckner Inniss is senior associate dean for academic affairs and professor of law, University Distinguished Professor, and the inaugural Robert G. Storey Distinguished Faculty Fellow at the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Professor Inniss received a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, where she majored in romance languages and literature. She earned her law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was an editor of the National Black Law Journal. She also holds a master of law degree and a Ph.D. in law from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in Canada She is the author of The Princeton Fugitive Slave: The Trials of James Collins Johnson (Fordham University Press, 2020).

Sarah Krakoff is the Moses Lasky Professor of Law at the University of Colorado Law School. She is a nationally recognized expert in Native American law, natural resources law, and environmental justice. Professor Krakoff served as associate dean for faculty affairs during the 2018-19 academic year. Earlier, she was the director of the American Indian Law Clinic. Professor Krakoff is a graduate of Yale Univerity. She earned her law degree at the Univerity of California, Berkeley.
