A Trio of Women Scholars Who Are Taking on New Duties at Colleges and Universities

Sara Cook has been named vice president for academics at Viterbo University in La Crosse Wisconsin. Dr. Cook began at Viterbo University in 2001 as an assistant professor of business. She has steadily advanced up the academic ranks, serving as assistant dean of the College of Business and Leadership from 2009–15, Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs from 2016–17, dean of the College of Education, Engineering, Letters, and Sciences from 2017–present, and as the interim associate provost this year. She was promoted to associate professor in 2008 and full professor in 2017.

Dr. Cook is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she majored in mathematics and computer science. She holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore and a Ph.D. in organization and management from Capella University.

Sadie D. Wilks, an instructor in Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University, has been given added duties as the school’s new internship coordinator. She joined the faculty in 2015. Wilks previously served as vice president of administration and communication at the Louisiana State Medical Society.

Wilks holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Louisiana State University.

Natalie Lozinski-Veach is a new assistant professor of German in the School of International Letters and Culture at Arizona State University. Her research focuses on the intersection between critical aesthetic theory and the environmental humanities, especially animal studies, in 20th-century and 21st-century German and Polish literature. Dr. Lozinski previously taught at Williams College in Massachusetts and the University of West Georgia.

Dr. Lozinski-Veach is a graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she majored in German studies, English, and Spanish. She received a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in comparative literature from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
