The society annually presents the Ray W. Fahien award to an educator who has shown evidence of vision and contribution to chemical engineering education. Nominees for the award are evaluated using two criteria, outstanding teaching effectiveness and educational scholarship. Nominees must demonstrate excellence in training undergraduate or graduate students either in the classroom or through independent study projects. Also, the award recipient should have made significant contributions to chemical engineering education outside of his/her own institution such as the development of instructional methods or materials.
Dr. Ford Versypt’s research aims to develop and utilize innovative process systems engineering approaches to solve clinically-relevant, multiscale problems in medicine and pharmaceutics. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in chemical engineering. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois.
