Cedar Crest College Enters Partnership With Salus University to Provide Graduate Opportunities for Women

Cedar Crest College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution for women in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has entered into a partnership with Salus University, a private university in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, specializing in degree programs for the health care professions.

Under the agreement, women at Cedar Crest who complete a pre-audiology curriculum at Cedar Crest with a 3.3 GPA for three years or above can apply for admission to complete a doctor of audiology degree at Salus University with four additional years of study. Salus University will reserve three admission slots for Cedar Crest women each year.

A similar agreement will create opportunities for Cedar Crest students to earn a doctor of optometry in the same 3+4 year degree program format.

The two schools have also agreed to make pathways for Cedar Crest graduates to earn master’s degrees in physician assistant studies and blindness and low vision studies.

Elizabeth Meade, president of Cedar Crest College, stated that “this arrangement with Salus University affirms how well Cedar Crest College prepares students for advanced study and careers in the health sciences and provides expanded access for Cedar Crest students to excellent health science programs. I am very excited about all of the opportunities that this partnership opens up for our students.”
