Iowa State University Scholar Honored by the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture

Misty Lambert, an associate professor of agricultural education at Iowa State University, received the 2019 Educator Award from the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. The society was founded in 1955. It focuses on researching and teaching in agriculture at the postsecondary level. The award was presented at the association’s annual meeting at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

In accepting the award, Dr. Lambert stated that “working with students is the best part of my job. As a first-generation student myself, I appreciate the opportunity to be available to students and to help them achieve their goals in the same way my teachers did for me.”

Dr. Lambert joined the faculty at Iowa State University in 2017, after serving as director of teacher education at Oregon State University. At Iowa State, she teaches graduate-level courses in agriculture education. She is also the director of the Science With Practice Program, which provides research opportunities for undergraduate students.

Dr. Lambert holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural education from North Carolina State University. She earned a Ph.D. in agricultural education at the University of Missouri.
