Eight Women Who Will Be Taking on New Administrative Duties in Higher Education

Patricia Kucker has been named interim director of the Stuckeman School in the College of Architecture at Pennsylvania State University. Most recently, she served as the provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kuckler is a graduate of Penn State, where she earned both bachelor of science and bachelor of architecture degrees. She holds a master of architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in higher education, leadership, and policy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Mary Hale Tolar has been named interim vice provost for student success at Kansas State University. She currently serves as director of the School of Leadership Studies at the university.

Dr. Tolar holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in literature, and an educational doctorate all from Kansas State University.

Cydney McGlothin has been named university architect for the University of Florida. She has served as a project manager at the university since 2003.

McGlothin is a graduate of Kansas State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture.

Amanda Devitt has been named athletic director at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. She will be the first woman to hold the position at the university. Most recently, Devitt served as the senior associate athletics director for student-athlete services and success at the University of Hartford.

Devitt is a graduate of the University of New England where she majored in sport and fitness administration/management. She holds a master’s degree in sport management from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Alexis Smith has been named marketing coordinator for dining services at the Mississippi University for Women.

She recently graduated from the university, where she majored in communications and minored in marketing.

Bulaong Ramiz-Hall has been named director of the Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity at the University of Kansas. She was director of the Multicultural Resource Center at Amherst College in Massachusetts.

Ramiz-Hall is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where she majored in race and ethnic studies. She holds a master’s degree in counselor education and student development in higher education.

Caron Daugherty was appointed vice president for instruction and chief academic officer at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. She has been serving as vice president of instruction and chief academic officer at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri.

Dr. Daugherty holds bachelor’s degrees in English and professional writing and a master’s degree in English from Missouri State University. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Terlynn Olds has been named associate athletic director of internal operations and senior woman administrator at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. She was deputy director of athletics and business manager at Grambling State University in Louisiana.

Olds holds a bachelor’s degree in sports business and a master’s degree in criminal justice both from Saint Leo University in Florida, and a master’s degree in science of sports coaching from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.
