Patricia Rogers Named President of Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota

Patricia L. Rogers has been named president of Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota. The college enrolls more than 5,000 students, 54 percent of whom are women. Dr. Rogers will assume her new role on July 1, 2019.

Dr. Rogers has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Winona State University in Minnesota since 2013. During her tenure, she has established partnerships with various Minnesota community and technical colleges to create pathways for students to easily move among the colleges and the university. She also serves as a Higher Learning Commission Peer Reviewer and as the university’s Accreditation Liaison Officer.

From 2007 to 2013, Dr. Rogers served as the founding dean of the Health Sciences and Human Ecology and the School of Graduate Studies at Bemidji State University in Minnesota. Prior that to that, she served as the founding dean of the School of Education and Graduate Studies at Valley City State University in North Dakota from 2006 to 2007. From 1986 to 1996, she served as the co-leader of the Health Studies unit in the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health, School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Additionally, she has experience as the system director for instructional technology at Minnesota State and as chair of the Minnesota Online Council. She has received a Minnesota Pioneer Award for distance learning and teaching.

Dr. Rogers is a Fulbright Scholar who earned her bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. all from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
