Four New Women Assistant Professors at the University of North Dakota

Cathy Finley has been named an assistant professor of atmospheric sciences. She was an assistant professor at St. Louis University in Missouri.

Dr. Finley holds a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of California, Davis, and a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences from Colorado State University.

Beth Klemetsrud has been named an assistant professor of chemical engineering. She has been serving as an instructor in chemical engineering at the university since 2017 and previously served as a post-doctoral researcher at the Sustainable Futures Institute at Michigan Technical University.

Dr. Klemetsrud holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Michigan Technical University.

Ericka Sanner-Stiehr has been named an assistant professor of nursing. She previously served as a nurse in several hospital emergency rooms.

Dr. Sanner-Stiehr holds a doctorate from the University of Missouri Kansas City.

Ida Drury has been named an assistant professor of social work. She was a senior instructor and special projects manager for the Child Welfare Training System at the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect at the University of Colorado at Denver.

Dr. Drury holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, a master of social work degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, and a Ph.D. in public affairs from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Caroline Attardo Genco Named the First Woman President of the University at Buffalo

Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
