Three Women Named to Endowed Professorships at the University of Georgia

Lynn Bailey has been named the Flatt Professor in Foods and Nutrition. She is the head of the department of foods and nutrition and has been a professor at the University of Georgia since 2011.

Dr. Bailey holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, a master’s degree in nutrition from Clemson University in South Carolina, and a Ph.D. in nutrition from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Sheri Worthy has been named as the inaugural Samuel A. and Sharon Y. Nickols Professorship. She is the head of the department of financial planning, housing, and consumer economics and has been a professor at the University of Georgia since 2013.

Dr. Worthy holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of North Dakota, an MBA in marketing from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in consumer economics from Texas Tech University.

Brenda Cude has been named Georgia Athletic Association Professor in Family and Consumer Sciences. She has been a professor in the department of financial planning, housing, and consumer economics at the University of Georgia since 2006.

Dr. Cude holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics education and a master’s degree in consumer economics from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Ph.D. in consumer economics from Purdue University.
