Leslie R. Walker-Harding has named chair of the department of pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She was also appointed associate dean for the School of Medicine, and senior vice president/chief academic officer for Seattle Children’s, effective February 15, 2019. She is currently a professor and chair of the department of pediatrics at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and medical director and pediatrician-in-chief at Penn State Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Walker-Harding holds a medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine.
Judith Hayn has been named a co-editor of the SIGNAL Journal, a peer-reviewed journal associated with the International Literacy Association’s Special Interest Group-Network on Adolescent Literature. She is a professor of teacher education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Dr. Hayn holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. both in education from the University of Kansas.
Caroline McCracken-Flesher has been awarded with the Seibold Professorship in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wyoming. She is a professor in the department of English.
Dr. McCracken-Flesher holds a master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and a Ph.D. from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Cecilia Hyunjung Mo has been named an assistant professor of political science and public policy at the University of California, Berkeley. She was an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
Dr. Mo holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and interdisciplinary studies from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in secondary education from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, a master’s degree in international development from Harvard University, and a master’s degree in political science and Ph.D. in political economics from Stanford University.
Irem Tumer has been named interim vice president for research at Oregon State University. She also serves a professor in the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering and as associate dean for research in the College of Engineering.
Dr. Tumer holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. all in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Carla M. Sinopoli has been named director of the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology and professor of anthropology at the University of New Mexico. She was a professor of anthropology and curator of Asian collections in the Museum of Anthropological Archaeology at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Sinopoli holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Binghamton University of the State University of New York System and a master’s degree and Ph.D. both in anthropology from the University of Michigan.
Sandra Cassell has been named an assistant professor of business at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. She was a lead corporate trainer and quality control analyst with the Internal Revenue Service.
Cassell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Evangel University and an MBA from the University of Central Missouri.
Corinne Post, the Scott Hartz ’68 Term Professor of Management, has been named chair of the department of management in the College of Business and Economics of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She has been a professor at Lehigh since 2008 and previously served as program director for the management major.
Dr. Post holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from the University of Geneva in Switzerland, a master’s degree in international management from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, and a Ph.D. in organizational management from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
