Five Women Promoted and Granted Tenure at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania

Cymone Fourshey has been promoted to associate professor of history and international relations. She has taught at Bucknell since 2015. Dr. Fourshey holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ramona Fruja has been promoted to associate professor of education. Her research focuses on social foundations, multiculturalism, and ethics in education. Dr. Fruja holds a dual doctorate in sociology and education.

Elena Machado Sáez has been promoted to associate professor of English. She has taught at the university since 2015. Dr. Sáez holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in New York and a Ph.D. from the Stony Brook University in New York.

Jennie Stevenson has been promoted to associate professor of psychology. Her research examines alcohol consumption and the use of the drug oxytocin. She has also studied oxytocin’s effect on aging.

Nikki Young has been promoted to associate professor of women’s and gender studies. She conducts research about ethical issues of race, gender, and sexuality and how Black queer communities possess, embody, and enact moral excellence. Dr. Young holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a master of theology degree, a master of divinity degree, and a Ph.D. in Christian ethics from Emory University in Atlanta.
