Cedar Crest College, the selective liberal arts college for women in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has announced the establishment of the School of Nursing that will house the college’s extensive undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing. Students who enroll in the School of Nursing can choose from a number of programs, from the undergraduate level through the doctoral level. The college recently added three BSN-DNP tracks, including the Nurse Anesthesia Program.
“Cedar Crest has a long tradition of excellence in educating nurses. With the recent expansion of degree options and the ability to serve nurse students locally, regionally and nationally through online program delivery, creating the School of Nursing was the logical next step,” said Dr. Elizabeth M. Meade, president of Cedar Crest College.
Wendy Robb, who holds the Hazel & Walter May Endowed Chair for Excellence in Nursing at Cedar Crest College, will serve as dean of the School of Nursing. Dr. Robb is a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania. She earned a master’s degree in nursing at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Cautin, provost of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, brings over two decades of higher education experience to her new role as president of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She is slated to begin her presidency on July 1.
