Five Women Join the Faculty of the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis

The Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis has added five women scholars to its tenure-track faculty ranks. There are now 22 women on the business school’s faculty, an all-time high. A decade ago in 2007, there were only seven women on the faculty at the business school. Women are now more than one quarter of the total faculty at the business school.

The five new women faculty are:

Ashley Hardin is a new assistant professor of organizational behavior. For the past two years she has been a doctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Michigan.

Xing Huang was hired as an assistant professor of finance. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University in China. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley.

Hannah Perfecto is an assistant professor of marketing whose research is focused on consumer behavior. Dr. Perfecto is a graduate of Yale University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Rachel Ruttan is a new assistant professor of organizational behavior. Earlier this year, she received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Previously, Dr. Ruttan earned a bachelor’s degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a master’s degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Sydney Scott was named an assistant professor of marketing. Her research focuses on issues of morality and consumption. Dr. Scott holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
