A Half Dozen Women Appointed to New Administrative Positions in Higher Education

Anna Barone was appointed director of Student and Family Services at Pennsylvania State University. Since 2014, she has been associate director of the Office of Student Conduct at the university. Earlier, she held administrative posts at the College at Brockport in New York and James Madison University in Virginia.

Barone is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. She holds a master’s degree in college student personnel administration from James Madison University.

Michele Harper was promoted to assistant athletic director for academic and student athlete development at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She was the coordinator of student athlete services at the university.

Harper holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Samantha K. Huge was named director of athletics at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. When she takes office on May 1, she will be the first woman to hold the post. Since 2014, Huge has been serving as senior associate director of athletics at Texas A&M University. Earlier, she was deputy director of athletics and recreation services at the University of Delaware.

Huge is a graduate of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. She holds a law degree from Campbell University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Alice A. Ruth was appointed chief investment officer at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. She will be based in Boston and oversee an office of 13 employees. For the past eight years, she has been chief investment officer for Willett Advisors in New York City.

Ruth is a 1983 graduate of Dartmouth College.

Tamala Tamu Sukari Choma was named senior counsel for the University of California, Riverside. She was associate counsel for the Genesis Health System in Iowa.

Choma is a graduate of San Diego State University. She earned a master’s degree in communicative disorders at San Francisco State University and a law degree at the University of San Diego.

Robin Dozier Otten was appointed executive director of the Parker Center for Family Business in the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. Since 2003, she has been the CEO of RDO Strategic Consultants.

Otten holds a bachelor’s degree in government and a law degree from the University of New Mexico.

Jennie Sanders to Lead Academic Affairs at Purdue Global

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.
