Six Women Named to Positions as Deans

BreaultDonna Breault was appointed dean of the Dwight Schar College of Education at Ashland University in Ohio. Dr. Breault has been serving as director of program review and analytics at Missouri State University in Springfield. She is the former chair of the department of childhood education and family studies at Missouri State.

Dr. Breault holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. She earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Georgia State University.

bradleeyDeMethra LaSha Bradley was named dean of students and assistant vice president for student affairs at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She has been serving as assistant dean for academic and student affairs at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Bradley is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. She earned a master’s degree and an educational doctorate from the University of Vermont.

Kathy Bieschke_ppKathleen J. Bieschke is the new interim dean of the Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University. She is a professor of education and counseling psychology at the university.

Dr. Bieschke holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Illinois State University. She earned a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Michigan State University.

vacha-HaaseTammi Vacha-Haase was appointed dean of the Graduate College at Boise State University in Idaho. She has been serving as an associate dean and a professor of psychology at Colorado State University.

Dr. Vacha-Haase holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling from Arizona State University. She earned a Ph.D. at Texas A&M University.

sonia_hirtSonia A. Hirt will be the next dean of th School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at the University of Maryland. Her appointment is effective October 1. Dr. Hirt has been serving as a professor and associate dean for academic affairs at th College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech. She is the co-editor of the Journal of Planning History.

Professor Hirt is a graduate of the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Sofia, Bulgaria. She hold a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in urban and regional planning from the University of Michigan.

O'haraErin O’Hara O’Connor was named the eighth dean of the College of Law at Florida State University. She has been serving as the Milton R. Underwood Professor of Law and director of graduate studies in the doctoral program in law and economics at Vanderbilt Law School in Nashville, Tennessee. Professor O’Connor joined the faculty at Vanderbilt in 2001.

Professor O’Connor is a graduate of the University of Rochester in New York and the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
