Dr. Rutar was an associate professor of nursing and associate dean of research and collaborative partnerships for the School of Nursing at Cleveland State University in Ohio.
Dr. Wood currently serves as provost and vice president of academic affairs and student services at Marion Technical College in Marion, Ohio. Earlier, she served as dean of business information technologies and criminal justice at Marion Tech.
The new deans are Donna Breault at Ashland University in Ohio, DeMethra LaSha Bradley at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, Kathleen J. Bieschke at Pennsylvania State University, Tammi Vacha-Haase at Boise State University in Idaho, Sonia A. Hirt at the University of Maryland, and Erin O'Hara O'Connor at Florida State University.
Angie Estes, who teaches in the master of fine arts program at Ashland University in Ohio, will be presented the award and the accompanying $100,000 prize at a ceremony in Claremont, California, on April 16.
Among the five finalists are Lucie Brock-Broido of Columbia University, Angie Estes of Ashland University in Ohio, and Laura Kasischke of the University of Michigan.
