

The two scholars are being honored for their book Struggle for the Soul of the Postwar South: White Evangelical Protestants and Operation Dixie (University of Illinois Press, 2015). The book examines the role played by evangelical protestants in the battle for and against union membership in the South.
Elizabeth Fones-Wolf holds bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Maryland. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts.
