Last month, WIAReport published a post on the resignation of Leslie McClellon as president of Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota. President McClellon served as president of the college for only 18 months.
Now the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System has announced that Joyce Helens will serve as acting president of Rochester Community and Technical College until a permanent replacement for McClellon is found. Since 2006, Helens has been president of St. Cloud Technical and Community College in Minnesota. Earlier, she was dean and chief instructional officer at the University of Alaska Anchorage and served as president of Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington.
President Helens is a graduate of St. Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington. She holds a master’s degree in English from Portland State University in Oregon.
During President Helens’ tenure at Rochester Community and Technical College, Peg Shroyer will serve as acting president at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. She is the vice president of academic affairs at the college. Dr. Shroyer has held this post since 2009. She holds an educational doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
Jennifer Gaither, a lawyer by training, has been a Sullivan University faculty member for the past 25 years. She most recently served as the university's associate provost.
Dr. Crowley has served as provost at Ohio Wesleyan University since 2020. She is slated to become the nineteenth president of Kalamazoo College on July 1.
The three women named to provost positions are Nancy Marchand-Martella at the University of Northern Colorado, Lise Youngblade at Colorado State University, and Randi Storch at Western Oregon University.
Although it was initially founded as school for women, the University of Montevallo has never had a woman president. Now the university has reached a historic milestone and selected selected Michelle R. Johnston to serve as its next president.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
