Lillian Schumacher Named Chancellor of Pennsylvania State University-Beaver

Lillian SchumacherLillian Schumacher was named chancellor of Pennsylvania State University-Beaver in Monaca. She will take office on February 1.

The Beaver campus, located northwest of Pittsburgh, enrolls about 720 students. Only 38 percent of the student body are women.

Dr. Schumacher has been serving as vice president for academic affairs at Tiffin University in Ohio. Earlier, she was dean of the School of Business at Tiffin University. Before joining the staff at Tiffin, Dr. Schumacher was the founding director of the global leadership program at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne.

Dr. Schumacher is a graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She holds two master’s degrees and an educational doctorate in leadership studies from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Update: In January 2016, Dr. Schumacher decided not to take the position as chancellor of Penn State-Beaver when she was offered the position of interim president of Tiffin University. In June 2016, she became the permanent president of Tiffin University.
