Texas Woman’s University Promotes Five Women to Full Professor

fredlandNina Fredland was promoted to full professor in the Nelda C. Stark College of Nursing at the university’s Institute for Health Sciences in Houston. Professor Fredland is a graduate of Niagara University in Lewiston, New York. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

watsonPat Watson was appointed professor of reading at the Denton campus. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Missouri State University in Springfield. Professor Watson holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Missouri in Columbia.

DaSilvaCarolyn Da Silva was named a full professor of physical therapy at the university’s campus in Houston. She is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, where she majored in biology and psychology. Dr. Da Silva holds a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She joined the faculty at Texas Woman’s University in 1997.

hyndsDiAnna Hynds was promoted to full professor of biology. Professor Hynds is a graduate of Hillsdale College in Michigan. She holds a Ph.D. in pathobiology from Ohio State University and did postdoctoral research in neurobiology at the University of Kentucky.

sillimanLisa Silliman-French was appointed full professor of kinesiology. She has been on the faculty at the university since 1999. Professor Silliman-French is a graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University.
