Barbara McDonald Named President of North Hennepin Community College in Minnesota

The board of trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has named Barbara McDonald as the next president of North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park. The college, located just north of Minneapolis, enrolls about 7,500 students. Women make up 58 percent of the student body.
Dr. McDonald, who will take office on July 1, has been serving since 2014 as interim president of Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls. Previously, Dr. McDonald was provost, dean of academic affairs and student services, and director of institutional services at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Dr. McDonald is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned a master’s degree at the American University in Cairo, and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
