The Next Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University

Deborah Tahmassebi was named the next dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University in California. She will assume her new duties on August 1.

Dr. Tahmassebi joined the faculty at the University of San Diego in 1999. She is a professor of chemistry and also serves as associate dean of program development for the College of Arts and Sciences. She has been chair of the department of chemistry and biochemistry and the special assistant to the provost.

Professor Tahmassebi is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego. She holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Washington.
