Christine Fletcher, an assistant professor of theology at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, received the Barbara Reynolds Highly Commended Award from the Dorothy L. Sayers Society. Dr. Fletcher was honored for her book The Artists and the Trinity: Dorothy L. Sayers Theology of Work (Wipf & Stock Publishers, 2013).
Dr. Fletcher holds a master’s degree in politics and philosophy from the University of Oxford and a Ph.D. in theology from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England.
Barbara A. Horwitz, Distinguished Professor of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior at the University of California, Davis, received the Lifetime Mentor Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is being honored for her efforts to increase diversity in doctoral level programs in physiology.
Dr. Horwitz holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in zoology from the University of Florida. She earned a Ph.D. in physiology from Emory University in Atlanta.
Susana Morales, an associate professor of clinical medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College has been selected to receive the 2015 Elnora M. Rhodes Award from the Society of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Morales will receive the award at the society’s annual meeting in Toronto this April.
Dr. Morales joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College in 1998. She is a graduate of Harvard University and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Dixon is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta. She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University and was the first African American to receive a doctorate in dance from Temple University in Philadelphia.
For the past two years, Dr. Torti has served as president of the College of the Atlantic in Maine. Earlier, she was dean of the Honors College at the University of Utah.
Dr. Martin has led Kilgore College on an interim basis since November 2025. She has been an administrator with the community college for the past 25 years.
