In Memoriam: Lois Sabine Weihe, 1935-2014

weiheLois Sabine Weihe, a long-time community college administrator in Iowa, died on December 20 at her home in Coralville, Iowa. She was 79 years old.

Dr. Weihe was a native of Murphysboro, Illinois. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois and held a master’s degree and a doctorate in counselor education from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Weihe began her long career in higher education as a career counselor at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Dr. Weihe also served as dean of student development and dean of academic affairs at Scott Community College in Davenport, Iowa. From 1991 to 2000, she was vice president for student development and workforce development at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.
