Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, has announced the selection of three finalists for the position of dean of the Strome College of Business. All finalists recently visited the Strome College campus for interviews and public forums. Two of the three finalists are women.
Kathleen A. Getz is dean of the Michael R. Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University of Chicago. She has been at Loyola since 2011. Earlier, Dr. Getz was senior associate dean at the School of Business of American University in Washington, D.C. She holds a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
Kay M. Palan is professor of marketing and dean of the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. She joined the faculty at Western Michigan University in 2010. Previously, she taught at the College of Business of Iowa State University. Professor Palan holds a Ph.D. in business from Texas Tech University.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
