Four Women Appointed to Endowed Chairs

ajosephAnjali Joseph is the first holder of the Endowed Chair in Architecture and Health Design and Research at Clemson University in South Carolina. She was director of grants and research advisory services at the Center for Health Design in California.

Professor Joseph is a graduate of the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, India. She holds a master of architecture degree from Kansas State University and a Ph.D. in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Karen C. JohnsonKaren C. Johnson was named to the College of Medicine Endowed Professorship in Women’s Health at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Dr. Johnson joined the faculty at the university in 1980 and has been serving as a professor of preventive medicine.

Dr. Johnson is a graduate of Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee. She holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.

Charlton.jpgJudie F. Charlton was appointed to an endowed chair in glaucoma outreach that has been named in her honor at West Virginia University. She has been serving as a professor of ophthalmology and vice dean for clinical affairs at the West Virginia University School of Medicine.

Dr. Charlton is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine.

federle_katherineKatherine H. Federle was named to the Joseph S. Platt-Porter, Wright, Morris and Authur Professorship in Law in the Michael E. Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University. She has been serving as professor of law, director of the Justice for Children Project, and director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies at Ohio State.

Professor Federle is a graduate of the Seattle University School of Law and holds a master’s degree in law from Georgetown University Law Center.
