In Memoriam: Sherri King, 1975-2014

kingSherri King, the managing director of the University of Virginia Investment Company, died at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville on September 7 from a blood clot in the brain. She was 39 years old.

King joined the university’s investment team in 2012 to oversee its fixed-income investments and risk management strategies. Previously she worked for Stifel Financial Corporation in St. Louis, JP Morgan Chase, Bear Stearns, and Credit Suisse.

King was a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she majored in mathematics. She held an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
