Three Women Join the Faculty of Clemson University Libraries

All three of the Libraries’ new faculty are in Special Collections and Archives.

Erica Morris is the new archivist for military heritage. Morris will work to maintain and expand the university’s military history collections, support the Veterans’ Oral History Project, and help document Clemson’s long military heritage. Morris comes to Clemson from the Olivia Raney Local History Library in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she worked as an archivist for three years. Morris holds a bachelor’s degree in history from The College of New Jersey and a master of library science degree with a specialization in archives and records management from Indiana University.

Emma Squire is the new Shepard Family Archivist for Neurodiversity. She served as the archivist for Kalaupapa National Historical Park in Molokai, Hawaii. She has previous experience with the National Park Service History Collection and with Archives and Special Collections in the University of Pittsburgh Library System. Squire holds bachelor’s degrees in art history and history from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota. She earned a master’s degree in theatre with an emphasis on history from Miami University in Ohio and a Ph.D. in performance studies and theatre from the University of Pittsburgh.

Doreen Dixon was appointed digital collections archivist. She is a member of the Society of American Archivists’ Electronic Records Section Steering Committee, as well as the BitCurator Consortium, the Forum Committee, and the National Digital Stewardship Alliance Excellence Awards Working Group. She is a graduate of the now-closed Briarcliffe College in New York and holds a master’s degree from Long Island University in New York.
