Cedar Crest College, a liberal arts educational institution for women in Allentown, Pennsylvania, recently launched Advance at Cedar Crest, a new professional learning initiative designed for working adults looking to expand their skills in high-priority occupations.
Advance includes on-demand learning opportunities that fit into the schedules of working adults through courses that are all short-term, flexible, online, and modular. The initiative includes three pathways aligned with high-demand industries: business, which covers topics such as operations, accounting, project coordination, marketing, and entrepreneurship; healthcare, which prepares students for roles in hospitals, clinics, and community care settings; and technology, featuring training in information technology, cybersecurity, and data-informed decision-making.
“At Cedar Crest, we believe leadership is cultivated over a lifetime,” says President Elizabeth Meade. “Advance at Cedar Crest reflects our deep commitment to meeting learners where they are — whether they are just beginning their journey, seeking new skills, or pivoting toward new opportunities. By responding thoughtfully to the workforce priorities of the Lehigh Valley, we are creating pathways that honor our historic mission while equipping today’s professionals for tomorrow’s challenges.”
