Marietta College in Ohio Awards Tenure to Six Women

MariettaMarietta College in Ohio has announced the awarding of tenure to nine faculty members. Six of the faculty members awarded tenure are women. Five of the six women were promoted to associate professor and one already held that title. The appointments take effect on July 1.

alwaySara Alway-Rosenstock was promoted to associate professor of art. In addition to teaching, she operates a letterpress and design shop. Alway-Rosentock is a graduate of the New College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She holds a master of fine arts degree from Temple University in Philadelphia.

chandrasekharChaya Chandrasekhar was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of art. She currently serves as the Israel Ward Assistant Professor of Art. Before joining the Marietta College faculty, Dr. Chandrasekhar was a curator at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Chandrasekhar is a graduate of Bangalore University in India. She holds a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and a Ph.D. in Asian art history from Ohio State University.

hancockCarole Hancock, an associate professor of education at Marietta College, was granted tenure. She joined the faculty at the college in 2011, after 19 years on the faculty at Washington State Community College in Marietta, Ohio. Dr. Hancock is a 1975 graduate of Marietta College. She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in education from Ohio University.

lustofinKaty Lustofin was named an associate professor of biology and granted tenure. Dr. Lustofin, a member of the Entomological Society of America, is a graduate of the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York system. She earned a master’s degree at the University of California and a Ph.D. in entomology from the University of Illinois.

robinsonTomeka Robinson was promoted to associate professor of communications and granted tenure. She also serves as director of forensics at the college. Before joining the faculty at Marietta College, she taught at Texas A&M University. Dr. Robinson is a graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She holds a master’s degree in communication and a doctorate in health education from Texas A&M University.

sandersAlane Sanders was named an associate professor of communication and granted tenure. She previously served on the faculty at Washington State Community College and Ohio University. Dr. Sanders is a graduate of Ohio State University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in organizational and health communication from Ohio University.
