Kathleen Poorman Dougherty was appointed Interim president of Marietta College in Ohio. Since July 1, 2023, she has served as provost and dean of the faculty at the college. She was the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Alma College in Michigan from 2018 to 2022.
Dr. Stuebner has served as president of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire for the past eight years. She will assume the presidency of Marietta College in Ohio on July 15.
Dr. Drugovich retired from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, in 2022 after serving 14 years as its president. Prior to her time at Hartwick, Dr. Drugovich was the vice president for strategic communications and university enrollment and vice president of admission and financial aid at Ohio Wesleyan University. She will serve as interim president of Marietta College, effective July 1.
Dr. Dougherty was the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Alma College in Michigan from 2018 to 2022 and has been on sabbatical this past year. Earlier, she served as the inaugural dean for the School of Humanities and subsequently led the School of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
During long tenure at Cleveland State University, Dr. Lesh-Laurie served in various roles including chair of the biology department, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, dean of the College of Graduate Studies, and interim provost.
The new institute will continue the university's success in developing empowered women leaders. Susan MacKenty Brady has been named the managing director of the leadership institute.
Since 2013, Dr. Nancy J. Cable has been serving as president of the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation. Earlier in her career, Dr. Cable was vice president and senior adviser to the president at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and dean of admission and financial aid at Davidson College in North Carolina.
The six women faculty members awarded tenure at Marietta College are Sara Alway-Rosenstock, Chaya Chandrasekhar, Carole Hancock, Katy Lustofin, Tomeka Robinson, and Alane Sanders. Five of the six were promoted to associate professor.
Julie Beth Zimmerman at Yale University and Deborah Cook at Virginia Tech were named to endowed chairs. Beverly Hogue was promoted to full professor at Marietta College in Ohio.
The college announced that as of July 1, Ann Bragg will be an associate professor of physics, Tanya Judd Pucella will be promoted to associate professor of education and leadership studies and Nicole Livengood will be an associate professor of English.
Karyn Z. Sproles was appointed provost and dean of the faculty at Marietta College in Ohio. She has been serving as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Carlow University in Pittsburgh.
