Berkeley College Names a New Provost

Marianne P. Vakalis was named provost of Berkeley College. The college operates six campuses in New Jersey, three in New York, and has an extensive online degree program.
Dr. Vakalis has been serving as interim provost since January of this year. Previously, she was associate provost for faculty affairs. She joined the administration of Berkeley College in 2004 as dean of academic affairs for the New York campuses. Previously, she taught undergraduate and graduate computer science courses at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Vakalis is a graduate of the University of Hull in England, where she majored in mathematics and computer science. She holds a master’s degree in educational technology from the University of Bath in England and a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
