Notable Appointments of Women in Higher Education

● Janine Remillard, a professor in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, was named vice chair of the U.S. National Commission for Mathematics Instruction. Professor Remillard has been on the faculty at Penn since 1977.
● Lisa Melendy was named chair and director of physical education, athletics, and recreation at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Melendy, a former soccer coach at the college, has been serving as interim athletics director.
Melendy is a 1982 graduate of Smith College and holds a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts.
