Four Women Named Professor Emerita at Lesley University

lesleyLesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has announced the retirement of four women faculty members. All four women have been granted professor emerita status.

FACULTYLindaBrionMeiselsLinda Brion-Meisels was appointed professor emerita of education and psychology. She is a graduate of Grinnell College in Iowa. Professor Brion-Meisels earned a master’s degree at Wheelock College in Boston and a Ph.D. at Boston College.

FACULTYJudithCohenJudith Beth Cohen was named professor emerita of adult learning. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan and earned a Ph.D. at the Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio.

FACULTYRosalieFinkRosalie Fink was appointed professor emerita of English. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and holds a master’s degree from the State University of New York at Cortland and an educational doctorate from Harvard University.

FACULTYSusanMerrifeldSusan Merrifield is a new professor emerita of English education. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Merrifield holds master’s degrees from Goddard College in Vermont and the University of Maine. She earned an educational doctorate at Harvard University.

Ayanna Howard Appointed the Twelfth President of Spelman College in Atlanta

Dr. Howard joins Spelman from Ohio State University, where she has been serving as dean of the College of Engineering. She is a nationally recognized expert in robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-centered technology.
